At the end of every year, the Netflix platform reveals a big game. It offers prestigious films that are presented several weeks in advance at the world’s biggest festivals. Take a look at our five most anticipated picks – in order of release:

Count – September 15

After Spencer, his Lady Diana biopic with Kristen Stewart, director Pablo LarraĆ­n returns with one of his strangest projects yet: The Count. Between a horror film and a satirical political film, the filmmaker transforms Chilean General Augusto Pinochet into a vampire ready to die.

The film, only in black and white, already announces itself separately, with images of horror directly related to Nosferatu, vampires and corrosive humor. Undoubtedly, one of the anomalies of the year. The Count is presented at the Venice Film Festival.

The Amazing Story of Henry Sugar – September 27

Just months after the release of Asteroid City, Wes Anderson is back with The Amazing Story of Henry Sugar, a 37-minute short film shot in 16mm. It adapts Roald Dahl’s famous short story and tells the story of a rich man who discovers the existence of a clairvoyant guru and undertakes to master this gift for cheating at a game.

The cast of this project includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, Rupert Friend, Richard Ayoade and Ben Kingsley. The Amazing Story of Henry Sugar is Wes Anderson’s first collaboration with Netflix. The premiere of the film took place at the Venice Film Festival.

The killer – November 10

David Fincher renewed his experience with Netflix and released The Killer, an adaptation of the French comic book. The killer Written by Matz and drawn by Luc Giacammoni. The main role will be played by Bradley Cooper himself. The project, which has been in development for several years, is being produced by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.

Actress Carey Mulligan responds to the director as his wife Felicia Montealegre. Following the release of the trailer, Maestro sparked controversy over the prosthetic nose worn by Bradley Cooper, which some believed reproduced physical stereotypes about Jews. Snow circle – coming soon

After moving to the small screen to sign episodes of the Lord of the Rings series, director JA Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible) returns to the cinema for Snow Circle, Rescue, which depicts the extraordinary fate of survivors. A plane crash in the Andes mountains in 1972.

On this story, which was shown on the screen more than once, his cannibalism case was especially talked about. After eating the leather of the seats, the survivors ate the dead passenger to survive. The film is presented at the Venice Film Festival.
