It looks like a movie on repeat, but it’s not. Santos fans organized once again a big party at Congonhas airport this Saturday to support the team before the trip to Belo Horizonte. This Sunday the team will face América-MG, for the Brazilian championship.
Hundreds of fans met the Santos delegation at the airport, with the intention of motivating the players for this weekend’s match. The duel is scheduled for 18:30 (Brasilia time), at the Arena Independência.
The athletes stepped off the bus and soon found themselves in the cheering crowd. They also walked through a fiery corridor before going up the escalator to enter the departure lounge.

This had already happened before the match against Atlético-MG. The Santos team was greeted with joy by the fans at Congonhas airport, and even after the 2-0 defeat, at their debut at the MRV Arena, the cheering remained the same.
This was the premise of the meeting between players and fans that took place at CT Rei Pelé, the day before the victory over Grêmio: unlimited support. Amidst the ups and downs of the team on the pitch, the fans continue to abide by the agreement to the letter.
Santos occupy 17th place in the table, with 21 points, and can escape the relegation zone if they win or draw, depending on the outcome of the match between Bahia and Vasco. At the bottom, however, is América-MG, with 13 points.
