The “Mayara & Annabelle” comics will become a national live-action series. Floresta, Sony’s Brazilian production company, and Clube Filmes have signed an agreement to make the adaptation.
In the plot, two public officials battle supernatural creatures.
“After making comics safer, some civil servants will fight the demons on your TV!” Confirmed the comic’s official Instagram profile.
“And that’s all we can talk about at the moment,” continued the text. “But we are very happy and excited for what is to come!”
Created by Pablo Casado and Talles Rodrigues in 2010, the publication began with crowdfunding campaigns, but soon ended up closing distribution in the United States, won an award-winning mobile game, and received a luxury relaunch from Conrad.
