Les Tuche: Press pause at 55 minutes and 57 seconds, did you notice this error?

Directed in 2011 by Olivier Barroux, Les Tuche is broadcast tonight on TF1.

The first adventure of the now famous family, the feature film directed by Isabelle Nenti and Jean-Paul Rouve, features Jeff, Cathy and their three children, from very modest backgrounds but living a peaceful and harmonious life… until the day they win an incredible sum of 100 million euros by playing Eurolottery and decided to move to Monaco.

Like any cinematic work, substantial or more private, French or international, Olivier Barrou’s film is bound to miss a few minor missteps. More or less important mistakes that Michelle and Michelle, our Faux Fitting experts, were happy to discover during a special program dedicated to the entire Tuche franchise.

When you (re)discover the film tonight on TF1, look out at 55 minutes and 57 seconds for the scene where Geoff Tuche, having just won a big win for his junior football club over a rival team, returns home with a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

As we can very easily notice, even when watching the sequence at normal speed, the position of the bottle still changes between the character’s two hands, depending on whether we are in a wide shot or a closer shot.

Indeed, in the first close-up (above), he is holding the neck in his right hand and the bottom of the bottle in his left. However, from the next shot (below), in an instant, it’s the exact opposite. The inversion happens several times during the scene.

This little inverted bottle error, which is likely attributed to a script problem, isn’t the only one in the film. As you’ll be able to tell by discovering our show in its entirety, the first part of Tuches also includes additional teleportation and a newspaper article that combines two different stories.
