The São Paulo fans were the team’s big differential during the season. Morumbi was the great asset of the Tricolor in 2023 and was one of the key pieces to take the team to the final of the Copa do Brasil. Now the club can break the record for revenue in a single year, in the entire history of the institution.
Last Thursday (31), São Paulo faced LDU, in the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana. Despite being eliminated from the competition, Tricolor collected R$3.913 million. With this amount, São Paulo achieved an annual gross income of R$ 69,380,045. The score already exceeds that of last season, which held the institution’s record, with R$ 65,466,593.00.
The record has even greater representation due to the difference in matches in which the score was achieved. This year there were 27 home games against 39 in 2022. In this way, San Paolo still has the possibility of further increasing this record.
Furthermore, Tricolor should break another record in Morumbi. This time in public. After all, until now, San Paolo has already put 1,210,197 people in its stadium. The best result was 1,260,707 viewers last year. There are therefore only 50,510 tickets left to set a new record.
Next game of San Paolo at Morumbi
The next commitment as owner of the Tricolor will only be on the 20th, the date of the duel against Fortaleza, for the Brasileirão. However, on September 24, São Paulo will face Flamengo, in the decisive match of the Copa do Brasil. The expectation is that Morumbi will be taken by the fans.
