Promising almost nothing, but keeping everything, Oppenheimer continues to grow at the box office and this week reached a new milestone: Christian Nolan’s film surpassed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and now it’s in third place as the biggest film of the year.
Collecting records, Oppenheimer it also recently achieved the second highest grossing among R-rated films, second only to Joker (2019), as well as being Nolan’s third highest-grossing film in the United States.
In the last week of August, the production also achieved, for the first time, a better weekly box office than that of Barbiecurrent worldwide success.
