Stan Lee, comic book creator Iron manwho is executive producing the film adaptation, explains why he created this atypical superhero. “What made me want to create a character like Iron Man was that I wanted something different from the usual superhero”he declares. “In 1963, he embodied everything that young readers of the time lacked: he was an industrialist who invented war machines.”
“I told myself that I would make sure that young people find him attractive by making him an interesting, rich, stylish and attractive guy.Stan Lee continues. “But I also wanted him to have a heart problem so that he could break his ‘perfect’ side and make readers care about him. The response was great, and of all the Marvel characters, Iron Man got the most fans from readers. People of all ages recognized the human side of the character.”
