A reference in the Corinthians women’s team, Tamires celebrated the club’s fifth championship in the women’s Brasileirão on Sunday, with a 2-1 victory over Ferroviária, at the Neo Química Arena. The player was responsible for scoring the title goal in the second half.
Tamires spoke of an “incredible day” and expressed gratitude to coach Arthur Elias, who played his last match in charge of the team at the Arena before taking charge of the Brazilian team. During the celebration he hugged his coach and also his partner Grazi.
“Look, once again I experienced one of the most incredible days of my life and my profession here at the Neo Química Arena. The gratitude I have for all the members of the technical staff, the athletes, all the employees of Corinthians, is enormous. I wanted to show some of my gratitude to them,” he said during the trip to Sports TV.
“Arthur and Grazi were part of many years of my football career, they were with me every day. It was the least I could show how grateful I am to them, how much I love them. I admire them very much not only as professionals, but as people, for the heart they have,” he added.
With the trophy, Brabas also secured their fourth consecutive Brasileirão title, as well as Arthur Elias’ fifteenth victory for the team. Honored by the fans, he will juggle both jobs for about two months. His farewell will take place at the end of the Libertadores, scheduled from 5 to 21 October, in Colombia.
Corinthians also set a new attendance record for women’s football in South America, with 42,566 fans attending the stadium this Sunday. Previously, the brand belonged to a classic between Universitario and Alianza Lima, in the Peruvian championship.
