Microsoft develops an AI feature to generate a parallax effect on background images in Windows 11 and create a feeling of interaction and movement
A future Windows 11 update could introduce a new AI feature to an unexpected place: the screen background. According to documents obtained from the Windows Latest website, the Microsoft Test a visual effects tool to make backgrounds more interactive.

According to the publication, this new feature would be able to create a parallax effect in the image used as a background to generate a sensation of movement and depth perception.
Wallpaper comes to life
The proposed application of artificial intelligence is to make the background “come to life” and respond visually when the user passes the cursor over the image or moves the device itself.
It is possible that the feature works better on more modern devices that have adequate sensors to detect movements. However, this does not mean that the function will only be available on tablets as interaction will also be possible via the mouse.
It’s worth noting that this new background mode is still being documented internally and isn’t expected to arrive even in trial versions of Windows 11.
