Barcelona and Real Madrid stand in solidarity with the victims of the disasters in Libya

Barcelona and Real Madrid have expressed solidarity with the victims of the natural disasters that have hit Libya in recent days. With more than two thousand deaths, it is estimated that 10 thousand people have disappeared since the beginning of the century Storm Daniel caused the collapse of two dams in the north-east of the country.

“Real Madrid CF, its president and its board of directors wish to express their deepest condolences to the victims of the floods that Libya is suffering. Our club wishes to express its condolences and affection to the families of the deceased and to the “the entire Libyan people. Likewise, we wish to convey all our strength and solidarity to the affected people and families”, published the Madrid club.

While Barcelona returns to the pitch this Saturday, when they face Real Betis, at 4pm (Brasilia time), at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad the following day, at the same time, at the Santiago Bernabéu. Both matches are valid for the fifth round of La Liga. The Merengues are leaders of the competition with 12 points and the Catalans are third with 10.
