As happens every year, Brazilian Academy of Cinema and Visual Arts need to choose the film that will represent Brazil in the next Oscar. For the 2024 edition of the award, the institution chose the documentary Ghost Portraits.
It is worth highlighting how the film is now competing for a disputed nomination in Best International Film at the Oscars 2024 against productions from several other countries. In addition to Ghost Portraits, Brazilian Academy of Cinema and Visual Arts considered another 28 feature films, such as Our Dream – The Story of Claudinho and Buchecha, Strange Way It is Toll.
