This Sunday (17), Flamengo lost 1-0 against São Paulo in the first match of the Copa do Brasil final. And once again, coach Jorge Sampaoli received harsh criticism, as well as being criticized in an audio leaked by journalist Eric Faria, of Globo.
The content of the audio, leaked during half-time of the match, features Eric Faria, Luis Roberto, Ricardinho and Roger Flores discussing the match. But at a certain point Eric defines Sampaoli as an “imbecile” and comments that the Rubro-Negro coach must be smart not to bet on repeated lineups. Against San Paolo, the commander started with the attacking trio of Bruno Henrique, Pedro and Gabigol.

“If you want to remember, Flamengo’s two best performances with this idiot, Botafogo and Grêmio,” he began.
“He has problems watching the game, cognitive problems. He could form the same formation he played well with 15 days ago. It must be his touch,” the journalist continued.
Despite strong criticism and calls for Sampaoli’s resignation, Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz supported the Argentine in the role for the second match of the final, which will take place next Sunday (24th), at 4pm, at Morumbi.
