Specializing in hypnotherapy, Estelle tries to gently treat patients through trauma memory. Devoted to his cause, he leaves behind a family that gradually drifts away from him.
When Thomas Cassan, her childhood sweetheart, is admitted to the clinic where she works, she immediately falls under his spell again. But after a fatal altercation with a member of the nursing staff, the two ex-lovers are on a hot pursuit. But is Thomas really as innocent as he seems?
Despite its intriguing plot, the plot of L’Impasse runs out of steam very quickly and gets lost in a plot that is very difficult to follow. A plethora of characters, over-explanatory dialogues and far-fetched twists struggle to keep us wanting to watch this psychological thriller to the end.
A feeling that is not helped by too many parallel studies. Between Estelle’s family’s pursuit of the two runaways, the mystery of Thomas’ father’s death, the double game played by Thomas’ mother, and the investigation led by Avi Marciano’s character into the strange death. The hero’s wife, the audience no longer knows where to turn.
However, these flaws are balanced by the acting of Gwendolyn Hammon and Thierry Neuwich, who make a convincing duo thanks to the pair’s wonderful interpretations. The actor brilliantly played the role of Thomas, a complicated character struggling to come to terms with the trauma of his father’s death. In short, thanks to its surprising output, L’Impasse should appeal to fans of the genre.
