The fourth edition of the Los Angeles International Music Video Festival (LAMV), created by Recife artist Netrola, awarded, in the popular vote, a clip by rapper Djonga which competed with works by artists from all over the world. The goal of the festival is to share and project independent voices, as well as celebrate artists recognized by the general public.
The clip “Conversa Com Uma Menina Branca”, in which Djonga also performs, is part of the album “O Dono do Lugar” and shows conversations with several women about the obstacles that black people face, such as racism, violence and a strong scene of physical aggression carried out by white men in front of a nightclub.
Currently, the singer has more than 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 4.2 million followers on social media. Djonga took to the Internet to thank his fans.
“It’s ours, family!!! We won the international award ‘Los Angeles International Music Video Festival’ (LAMV), with the clip “Conversa Com Uma Menina Branca”!! Thank you all for voting and making all this possible! This award belongs to all of you. Gratitude to the entire Quadrilha family and all the people involved!”, posted the rapper from Minas Gerais, often acclaimed for his lyrical ability and his remarkable stage presence in the shows of the biggest festivals in the country .
In addition to Djonga, singer Marcelo Falcão was awarded at the festival with the song “Vitória”, not yet officially released, in the “Best Voice” category.
About the festival
The Los Angeles International Music Video Festival (LAMV) is diverse and open to artists from all over the world, including independents and those with little expression in the music scene. Netrola, organizer of the event since the first edition, declared in an interview that the curation is entrusted to a jury specialized in new talents.
“The curation aims to highlight new projects and works by independent artists in each edition. And every year we also have a jury. Film and music professionals who are people who have experience with new talents are invited to participate. “
