The dollar retreats after the previous day’s jump, but heads towards a weekly high

The dollar fell against the real on Friday morning, in an adjustment move following a jump the day before that left the US currency on track to end the week at a high following a tough stance from the Federal Reserve.




At 9:03 a.m. (Brasilia time), the cash dollar fell 0.54% to 4.9090 reais on sale.

On B3, as of 9:03 a.m. (Brasilia time), the front-month dollar futures contract fell 0.54% to 4.9150 reais.

A day earlier, the cash dollar had closed the day at 4.9358 reais, up 1.14%.

In this session, the Central Bank will auction up to 16,000 traditional currency swap contracts with the aim of rolling them over until the expiration date of November 1, 2023.
