SPOILER ALERT! This article reveals a major plot element of Season 4 of Sex Education. If you don’t want to know what we’re talking about, don’t read any further.
We told you about him a few weeks ago, when we announced his return to television with a new look and a new role. But he seems to have more than one trick up his sleeve!
Jack Gleeson, the unforgettable Joffrey Baratheon from Game of Thrones, decided to surprise the public earlier than expected and above all, which no one announced!
What was our surprise and the fans of the series when we found the actress in a very small role in the 4th season of Sex Education. We see him briefly in two episodes as Dodgy Mo in the English version, or Mo le chelou in the French version. He is a friend of Sean (Edward Blumel), the brother of Maeve (Emma Mackie), who takes in the latter when Sean and Maeve have just lost their mother.
Moe is a young man who apparently lives alone and, like Shawn, is a drug addict. In his second appearance, he explains to Maeve – who is looking for her brother to scatter their mother’s ashes – that she left Sean with all his belongings to separate himself. An impossible mission to complete in Mo’s house. After which, Mo asks Maeve to play the console after using her bong…
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jack Gleeson on our screens since his success in Game of Thrones, where he played the villainous Joffrey Baratheon, one of the series’ greatest villains, but also from television history.
The Irish actor starred in the series from 2011 to 2014 (only!) and earned two Screen Actors Guild Awards as well as other nominations for his role as the cruel teenager, King Robert Baratheon (Mark Eddy) and Cersei Lannister’s heir. (Lena Head).
But after leaving the HBO blockbuster in 2014, Jack Gleason decided to end his career. At the time, he told students at a conference at University College Dublin: “It’s really because I didn’t enjoy acting as much as I used to.“
“I started playing when I was eight and I really, really loved it, you know… somehow it got a little mechanical and less passionate as I got older. Game of Thrones has begun.“, he reports Radio Times.
In 2020, Jack Gleeson returned to the screens in Sarah Pascoe’s British sitcom Out of Her Mind, where he played the role of Casper. But this role in sexuality education is the first to give her real global exposure. And the subscribers did not respond to the networks:
