The Flamengo team is still digesting the loss of the Copa do Brasil title against Sao Paulo. Finishing second in the competition increased the pressure on the cast, coaching staff and board for the remainder of the season.
Midfielder Arrascaeta spoke about the final. The Uruguayan admitted that the Rossoneri did not do well in the first leg, at the MaracanĂ£.
“We started out frustrated because we had everything we needed to win the title. We created many scoring situations, but at home we were in debt. We weren’t able to play a good game. The feeling we were left with was that we could have done more. Football is like that. The moment is not. That’s fine,” he said.
Arrascaeta preached concentration after the Brazilian championship.
“Now we have to raise our heads again. We still have many matches for the Brazilian championship. We have to win most of them”, declared the athlete.
Flamengo now aims to finish the Brazilian championship in the Libertadores ranking area. The Rossoneri are in seventh place, with 40 points, currently out of the main continental competition of the season.
