Striker Alexandre Pato is increasingly far from agreeing to stay at San Paolo. The player was again excluded from the list of registered players and was not even on the bench in the duel against Coritiba, this Wednesday (27th), at Morumbi, for the 25th matchday of the Brazilian championship. So the athlete’s future should not be at Morumbi.
It’s the third time in the last four games that the player didn’t even go to the bench. He was not included in the two matches of the Copa do Brasil final against Flamengo and was excluded, once again, in the duel against Coxa. Coach Dorival Júnior opted for Calleri and Lucas as starters, as well as leaving David, Juan and Luciano, the club’s idol, as options.
With a contract only until the end of the year, Pato does not have an automatic renewal clause. In his contract the player only has financial bonuses for the established objectives. Therefore, the attacker’s stay next season becomes more and more distant.
After the duel against América-MG, in Belo Horizonte, for the Brazilian championship, Pato complained about the few minutes on the pitch and expressed the desire to play more. The complaint yielded little results. Since then he entered the field against Internacional and Fortaleza, in both, around the 35th minute of the second half and without highlighting. Dorival admitted that he likes the player, but preferred other options.
“Pato continues to work, to intensify and when I think I have to include him… I’ve always liked the athlete a lot, there’s no other way to think. At the moment I’m giving priority to those who, in my opinion, are a little forward and trying to get the most,” explained Dorival.
