True Detective Season 4: Jodie Foster returns in chilling trailer for best detective series of recent years

Five years after Season 3, True Detective returns with Night Country. This new chapter is the first without original series creator Nick Pizzolatto. At the helm of this fourth installment we find screenwriter Isa Lopez, who also directs all episodes.

After the men’s duet, here is the women’s duet. True Detective: Night Country stars Jodie Foster and Callie Reiss (Catch The Fair One) as two detectives in Alaska. When the polar night falls on the town of Ennis, eight men employed at the research center disappear without a trace.

A new trailer released by the American broadcaster HBO provides a little more detail about the plot. So this season’s star duo have to work together despite their enmity. The images are reminiscent of the atmosphere of the first season, which is good news.

In recent years, Jodie Foster has been more cautious on screen. After starring alongside Tahar Rahim in Designated Guilty, she returns this year for a Netflix film centered around athlete Diana Nyad and Season 4 of True Detective.

An interesting project that definitely echoes her iconic character Clarice Starling in Jonathan Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs.

True Detective: Night Country, a six-episode series, will air transatlantic on January 14, 2024. In France, it will be offered on the Premier Video platform. An official date has not yet been announced.
