Barcelona reported this Saturday (30) that striker Raphinha suffered an injury to the hamstring of his right thigh during the duel against Sevilla. The teams faced each other this Friday (29th), in Catalonia, with Culé’s team winning 1-0, in the eighth round of the Spanish Championship.
The Catalan club has not made known its predictions for the Brazilian’s return. However, the minimum expected recovery time for this issue is three weeks. Raphinha will therefore have to be excluded from Fernando Diniz’s squad list to defend the Brazilian team. Brazil faces Venezuela on October 12th at the Arena Pantanal, and then goes to Montevideo to face Uruguay on the 17th. The attacker would not recover in time for the clashes.
The striker was injured in the 33rd minute of the first half against Sevilla. He left the pitch, but the Catalan press was already worried about his injury. Barcelona’s expectation, in fact, is that the Brazilian will return in time for the classic against Real Madrid, scheduled for 28 October.
Raphinha has played six games for Barcelona this season, with two goals and three assists. In fact, he started Brazil’s first two matches in qualifying and scored a goal in the 5-1 win against Bolivia.
Finally, the attacker is the second to be cut from Fernando Diniz’s list in recent days. Moreover, the left back Caio Henrique is also out of the Brazilian team’s commitments after seriously injuring his knee. Guilherme Arana, of Atlético-MG will be the substitute.
