BRASILIA – The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva he concentrated the morning of this Monday the 2nd on carrying out physiotherapy exercises to recover from the hip surgery he underwent on Friday the 29th. According to the Secretariat of Social Communication (Secom), the president feels pain, but this is expected within himself. He also had eyelid surgery while in hospital.

According to the information released, Lula had no work commitments today, neither remotely – call or message – nor in person, and is expected to remain without any agenda during the day. She only met her personal physiotherapist, Leandro Dias, at the Palácio do Alvorada, the official residence of the presidency.

The prediction is that Lula will not receive visitors during the week. The idea is to focus on recovery in the next few days.

Lula underwent hip arthroplasty, orthopedic surgery and blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery to treat excess skin in the eye area. The president was discharged early from the hospital on Sunday 1st and has remained at the Palácio da Alvorada ever since.

After being discharged, Lula thanked the prayers for his health on social media. “I have been discharged and I am already at the Palácio da Alvorada, where I will work in the next few weeks. Thank you for the prayers and all the loving messages. I am recovering to work even harder for Brazil and run a marathon,” he wrote on (formerly Twitter).
