Climatempo will broadcast live, directly from the hinterland of Ceará! Northern and northeastern areas of Brazil will be able to see the annular solar eclipse on October 14.
Do you know why October 14, 2023 is important? Because it is on this day that we will have a Annular solar eclipse. This means that the Sun, Moon and Earth will be positioned in such a way that, at any given time, we will see a sort of “ring of fire”, like an illuminated rim around the Moon.

But do you know why this date is so special here in Brazil? Why few places on the planet you will appreciate this ring of fire, which is the appearance of an annular solar eclipse. The lucky ones will be those who find themselves in this narrow pink band. And look at the North and Northeast of Brazil, guys! The phenomenon is so special that only a small part of these regions will see the entire annular solar eclipse, i.e. an image similar to this one from Saudi Arabia, in 2019.

4 good reasons why you want to see this eclipse
1 – An additional reason to plan for this astronomical event is that, until the end of this decade, the next annular solar eclipses will not have the visibility of October 14, 2023.
two – It’s free! Just look at the sun with adequate eye protection (you cannot look directly at the sun under any circumstances, because there is also a risk of blindness)
3 – The eclipse takes place on Saturday 14 October. But the 12th is a public holiday in Brazil and therefore, with the hanging on Friday the 13th, you can think of spending the weekend in the Northeast, to do a bit of astronomical tourism!
4 – Solar eclipses can only be seen during the day and with few clouds. October, in the pink band of the figure above, is a dry season, and the possibility of some rain ruining the show is very remote.
Future eclipses will not be visible this way
Another annular solar eclipse will occur on October 2, 2024, but the ring of fire will only be visible in Tierra del Fuego, far southern South America, and areas in the central Pacific Ocean.

Then we will have another annular solar eclipse, on February 17, 2026, but it will be visible practically only in Antarctica

The annular solar eclipse of February 6, 2027 (!!!!) can only be seen there Chuiin the south of Rio Grande do Sul

In it January 26, 2028 (!!!!) there will be an annular solar eclipse visible in a small part of northern Brazil. But listen to the voice of experience, here at Climatempo: January, Amazonas, Pará, Amapá, summer, lots of clouds, thunderstorms. It will be difficult to have a good condition to see the phenomenon.

October is a favorable month for observing the North-Eastern sky
But, returning to the reality of the annular solar eclipse of October 14, 2023, October is a normally dry period within the Northeast and also with little rainfall in the North. Even if the date is far away, the possibility of having a sky with us few clouds in the Northeastern hinterland in October it is relatively large.
And this is one more reason to make 10/14/2023 a truly special date. Astronomers from many places on the planet will be here to see this total annular eclipse.
