The Stranger Things writing team has responded to a tweet from the King of Horror, Stephen King, in which he expressed concern over why Season 4 was split into two parts.
In terms of authority, Stephen King stands right up there, with his books that have sold millions of copies and that, without exaggeration, can be said to have redefined horror fiction.
With a catalog that includes some of the greatest horror stories of modern times, King’s work has influenced not only the authors, but the creators of Stranger Things as well.
Season 4 paid special homage to her first novel, Carrie. Earlier in the season, Angela and the other classmates bullied Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to a scene at the ice rink, where they forced her and poured a drink on her head, similar to Kerry’s pig’s blood.
Stephen King didn’t like The Division in Season 4
There’s no doubt that the ghost of Stephen King has haunted the small town of Hawkins since the beginning of the series. We find traces of him in every episode of the series, especially in the story of the children who are being chased by the monster, directly from him.
However, on Twitter, Stephen King questioned why Stranger Things Season 4 was split into two parts. The horror master praised the season, saying it was “As good if not better than the previous threeHowever, he added that he wasA bit of rubbish“To be divided into two parts.
The new season of STRANGER THINGS is really cool – as good or better than the previous three. There’s even a CARRIE riff.
Is this the whole season or is this another one of them split into 2 parts? IMHO this is a kind of knife.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) June 1, 2022
“The new season of STRANGER THINGS is really cool, as good or better than the previous three. There is even a reference to CARRIE. Is it a whole season or another one split into 2 parts? A bit lame in my humble opinion.“
Sorry Uncle Steve, 8+9 isn’t done yet, but we’re working as fast as we can! I’m glad you enjoyed it and that you picked up our super cool curry riff 😜

The writers of The Stranger Things posted their response with humor. First of all, with a little familiarity, because they allow themselves to call Stephen King affectionately.Uncle Steve“.
Then they explained — it’s June 2022 — that episodes 8 and 9 “It’s not finished yet“, which explains why Stranger Things split into two parts. They then added that they were happy that King was enjoying the season and that he “He understood our super subtle appeal to Carrie“.
Season 4 of Stranger Things was split into two parts, simply because the episodes didn’t finish. It wasn’t a gimmick for the hype of the finale, but the exceptional length of the last two episodes – episode 9 clocking in at 2.5 hours – meant there was still work to be done. These delays were caused by overwork in the special effects department.
The fifth season probably won’t be split
Good news for Stephen King, Stranger Things Season 5 doesn’t have to be split into several parts. Writing for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things began in August 2022, with a season premiere date of either late 2024 or 2025.
“When you see the season back on with Stranger Things, that’s our effort to make sure we can get shows to subscribers faster.“- he said variety Netflix Director of Fiction.
