Netflix is raising prices (again)! The arrival of the formula this year, which includes advertising and then a campaign to prevent account sharing, is accompanied by an increase in subscription prices for the platform.
You currently have to pay €8.99 per month for an individual account, €13.49 for a duo account and €17.99 per month for a family account (six screens in total).
Unfortunately, the columns The Wall Street Journal It has been revealed that the new price increase will soon come into effect once the actors’ strike, which is currently raging and halting the production of all films and TV series in Hollywood, is over.
Our American colleagues specify that these tariff increases should come in waves and initially affect Canada and the United States, rather than the rest of the world.
As we suspect, France will unfortunately not be spared from this new price increase, which could happen before the end of the year and at the latest in the first half of 2024.
That’s why you’ll have to pay more to catch some of Netflix’s most anticipated upcoming series, including the fifth (and final) season of Stranger Things or the second season of the live-action series One Piece.
The price increase is unfortunately a trend that affects other streaming services, especially Prime Video and Disney+, but also other platforms that are not available in France, such as Max (HBO Max) and Peacock.
In the United States, this increase in prices is offset by the introduction of new exclusive programs, such as the transmission of sports events (in France, so far only the Prime Video platform has been launched in sports broadcasting).
