The agents of the 21st BPM intervened after an attempted murder in via Macedonia, arresting the suspects and seizing weapons and the vehicle used in the crime.
On the afternoon of this Wednesday (10/4), the Military Brigade, through the 21st Battalion of the Military Police, arrested six men in the Restinga district, far south of the capital, on charges of attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons fire.
The events happened around 5pm, when the suspects committed an attempted murder near Macedonia Street. However, they were surprised by an off-duty military police officer who witnessed the action. After a clash, two of the subjects involved were arrested and with them the black Fiat Stilo used for the crime was seized, as well as a 9 caliber pistol with four live rounds and one intact.
Immediately, security forces instituted a police siege which led to the arrest of four more people linked to the incident. Additionally, a victim of a commercial robbery identified the vehicle and one of the arrested suspects as responsible for the robbery of a barber shop on the same day. The victim of the attempted murder recognized three of the inmates as the perpetrators of the attack and is currently hospitalized, but her life is out of danger.
The six individuals were arrested in the act and taken to their respective police stations to complete the necessary legal procedures.
