‘Best Marvel Series Yet’, ‘Can’t Wait For Sequels’: Loki Season 2 Makes Triumphant Return With Episode 1 That Fans Will Recognize

Warning, spoilers. Before continuing reading this article, it is advisable to watch the first episode of Loki season 2.

The return of the god of evil has arrived! Loki, the series centered around the character played by Tom Hiddleston, returns for an even crazier second season on Disney+. His solo adventures lead him to collaborate with the TVA (Tribunal of Anachronistic Variations), which governs multiverse inconsistencies and gaps in the eternal temporal stream.

Because we find the 2012 Loki, the one who escaped death in New York, when the Avengers go back in time to recover the Infinity Stones to face Thanos in the end game. But his presence turns the entire multiverse upside down as he becomes a cosmic anomaly that will be promptly erased.

He must then work with Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) as well as Sylvie, or Lady Loki (Sofia Di Martino), his female version, to find out how the TVA works and what it is hiding. Everything is turned upside down when Sylvie kills the creator of the TVA, “The One Who Stays,” played by Jonathan Majors.

The latter is none other than a variant of Kang the Conqueror, the villain of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the great antagonist of the next phase of the MCU. Loki realizes that the TVA is controlled by this entity with multiple variants and that the people who work there are its victims, variants whose memories he often erases.

Season 2 is off to a flying start

Season 2 immerses Loki in a new multiverse adventure from the first episode available on Disney+. Poor Loki suffers from time-wandering and is transported from one timeline to another – past, present and future – without any control, preventing him from progressing properly in his quest for balance in the multiverse.

But this allows him to discover a connection between “The One Who Remains” and Judge Ravona Rensselaer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who has disappeared. Loki is assisted by Mobius and OB (Ke Huy Quan), a TVA technician, in fixing these temporary changes.

But they would have to use a temporal aura extractor so that Loki would be disconnected and excluded from the eternal temporal stream and returned to the present. The task is difficult and could kill them all as they deal with a time center that is overloaded by new branches of the time stream.

Which leads to an impressive and breathtaking sequence that culminates in a moving reunion between Loki and Mobius. And yet, it seems that an outside force is at the root of the problem, as Loki had time to go to the future and see Sylvie again, but also received a strange phone call.

These new information and questions will surely be answered in the following episodes, but they have the merit of introducing new mysteries into a knot that is already very difficult to solve.

Fans also seem quite confused by the events, but also excited and excited about the first episode of Loki Season 2, as evidenced by their first thoughts on X (formerly Twitter).

Translation: “My brain is trying to make sense of everything that’s going on in Locke.”

And be careful! The first episode of Loki Season 2 features a pretty fun post-credits scene that takes Sylvie to a famous fast food restaurant, so don’t miss it.
