Veiga sees hope for Palmeiras to win the Brazilian title: ‘The year is not over’

There are still 12 days left until the end of the Brasileirão

Midfielder Raphael Veiga has practically thrown in the towel for the Brazilian title in 2023. With the defeat against Santos this Sunday, at the Arena Barueri, Palmeiras’ distance from leaders Botafogo, who beat Fluminense, increased to eleven points .

Veiga acknowledged that the Rio team has a big advantage at the top of the table, but assured that Alviverde’s season is not over yet. There are still 12 days left until the end of the Brasileirão.

“We must be aware and understand that Botafogo has a great advantage. But our commitment is towards ourselves, to give our best in every training session, in every match. The year is not over yet, we who play for Palmeiras have a great effort to wear this shirt”, said the player in the mixed zone.

“It will be the 12 games of our lives, we will do our best. In the end we will see what the ranking will be like,” he added.

Stunned by the elimination in the Libertadores against Boca Juniors, Verdão will only take the field in 11 days. In the meantime, given the Fifa date in October, Abel Ferreira’s team will be able to refresh their minds and work to find their way back to victory.

Verdão’s next match will be on the 19th (Thursday), against Atlético-MG, in the 27th matchday of the Brazilian Championship. The dance will start at 7pm (Brasilia time), at Allianz Parque.
