At the height of the war in Israel, Gabriela Duarte and her children try to return to Brazil. The actress landed in the Middle Eastern country about 16 hours before the start of the bombings by the extremist group Hamas, which began in the early hours of Saturday (7/10).
“I am in Israel, that is, I am practically at the center of the war. This is not the case [exatamente] in focus because I’m not in the south, I’m in Tel Aviv, which is a little higher up than where the war is,” Gabriela explained in a video published on Instagram.
The artist had planned the trip a few years ago to introduce the place to his children, Manuela and Frederico, who are partly Jewish due to their father, the photographer Jairo Goldfuss. “I really wanted to show them this culture, this wonderful country. I love Israel, I think it’s a wonderful country,” he said.
However, Gabriela said they had to head to the hotel bunker around 6:30 am, when the missile alert went off in the region. The actress further stated that one of the bombs fell near the place where they were staying.
Gabriela Duarte’s family is well and managed to catch a flight to the Prague region of the Czech Republic in the early hours of this Monday (9/10). They should return to Brazil soon.
