The night in Serie B was full of emotions. This is because Sport and Ponte Preta played a great match and drew 3-3 in the 31st round of the second division of the Brasileirão, on Ilha do Retiro, this Monday (9). Macaca opened 3-0 in the first half, but conceded the equalizer to Leão da Ilha: 3-3. With this result, Sport remains in second place, three points behind leaders Vitória and two ahead of fifth, Atlético-GO. Ponte Preta is 16th, four points ahead of Chapecoense, the first team in the relegation zone.

Sport starts the match above Ponte, but leaves plenty of space in defense. Taking advantage of the counterattacks, Campinas’ team were lethal on their occasions and, in less than four minutes, scored two goals. Eight minutes after scoring the second goal, Ponte scored the third, this time from a penalty.

Stunned on the pitch, Sport’s coach, Enderson Moreira, changed teams and removed Ronaldo Henrique and Peglow for Diego Souza and Alan Ruiz. The effect didn’t take long to be felt: in injury time in the first half, Vágner Love scored Leão’s first goal and triggered the home team’s reaction.

Right at the start of the final phase, Diego Souza tried to pedal, but stopped in front of goalkeeper Caique França. But in the 15th minute, a penalty for Sport and a goal from Fabrício Daniel. The accusation sparked controversy and Ponte’s players complained about the interruption of the attacker’s run. Ten minutes later Sport equalised. Jorginho takes advantage of the defense’s failure and equalizes the result: 3-3.

Sport returns to the field in the direct clash against Juventude, Monday (16th), at the Alfredo Jaconi. Ponte will face Atlético-GO on Sunday (15th), at the Moisés Lucarelli.
