Reference FC, founded in 2018, has just become SAF (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol). The new certification represents another step in the club’s strategy to consolidate itself as one of the main global references in grassroots football. The transition expands Reference’s ability to attract diverse financial sources, including investment from sports funds and corporate partnerships, as well as facilitating registration periods for sports incentive programs, where the club can raise funds through a reduction in income tax in collaboration with the Ministry of Sport.

– We have been working on this aspect for about eight months so that the club can benefit from future tax incentives. The club’s idea is to act as an intermediary for larger clubs and ensure that these transactions generate financial profits, mainly for investors in the center of the company – explains Carlos Alberto Pereira, partner at Reference.

  • – In parallel, during the construction of the SAF, we collaborated with a specialized company to present four incentivized projects. The expectation is that by the end of November these projects will be evaluated by the Ministry of Sports and published in the Official Journal, which will allow us to mobilize incentive resources from companies – says Carlos.
  • These four projects are aimed at children aged 10 to 13, children aged 14 to 17, the Under 20s and, above all, the idea of creating a women’s team, covering the categories from Under 15 to Under 17.
