Negotiations between the Actors Union (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) appear far from over. After a long attempt to reach an agreement, the AMPTP said that the distance between the parties is “very large”.
On the other hand, SAG-AFTRA said the studios used “intimidation tactics” and walked away from the bargaining table after refusing to counter the union’s latest offer.
“It is with deep disappointment that we report that industry CEOs have withdrawn from the negotiating table after refusing to counter our latest offer. We have negotiated with them in good faith, despite the fact that last week they submitted an offer that was astonishingly lower than the one proposed before the strike began,” the union said.

Differences in the proposals
These companies refuse to protect artists from being replaced by AI, refuse to raise their salaries to keep up with inflation, and refuse to share even a small portion of the immense revenue their work generates for them.
