The Brazilian Athletics Confederation publishes the provisional competition calendar for 2024

The Brazilian Athletics Confederation (CBAt) has published the provisional competition calendar for 2024. Next year’s big event will be the Paris Olympic Games, which will be held from August 1 to 11, in France.

The competition that opens the season, on January 27 and 28, is the South American Indoor Athletics Championship, which will be held in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia. The competition will be important, as the Brazilian representatives could define for the World Indoor Championships, a world athletics event scheduled from 1 to 3 March in Glasgow, Scotland.

Darlan Romani, the 2022 world indoor shot put champion in Belgrade (Serbia), has already confirmed that he will defend his title next year. “I am not preparing specifically for the Pan American Games which will be held in Santiago, Chile, now in October and November. I hope to make a good grade and try to win my second championship,” he said.

“The preparation has begun for the Paris Olympics, it will go through the periodization for the Indoor World Championships in Glasgow, and then focus completely on the Olympic Games. It was not possible to do one specifically for the Pan, but I am sure I will do it” We will get a good result”, concluded the athlete.

Many other competitions are planned at South American and world level. CBAt informs that state federations interested in organizing national competitions will have to analyze the regulations available on the Confederation’s Extranet site and submit their candidature.

The Ibero-American Athletics Championship has already been confirmed for the period from 10 to 12 May, in Cuiabá (MT). The Troféu Brasil Interclubes Loterias Caixa de Atletismo is scheduled for 27 to 30 June, but still in a venue to be defined by the CBAt.
