Pink October: The actress from Plus belle la vie donates to the 2023 campaign for breast cancer research.

Caroline Bourg, who played the role of Elsa Belle in Plus belle la vie for more than 10 years from 2010 to 2022, has joined the new awareness campaign of the association Ruban Rose, published on October 1, which highlights this year’s research. in breast cancer.

The French actress, who can also be seen in Sous le soleil as Dr. Anna Costel or in Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache’s The Untouchables, also spoke about being in a project that affects her closely (via Ruben Rose).

There were three women around me facing this illness, so joining this campaign was obvious to me.

The national campaign, produced by BenoƮt Mallory and shot in Puteau, will be broadcast in traditional pink during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Research saves lives, it saved mine”

As the Cancerduseing.org website explained, the Pink Ribbon Association chose to focus this year on the importance of supporting research with the slogan “Research saves lives, it saved mine.” Its purpose is to raise awareness and encourage the general public to donate to research.

Indeed, although research is progressing, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women (1 in 8 women) and continues to affect more than 61,000 people in France every year. The leading cause of death from cancer in women, if detected at an early stage, the prognosis is 99% chance of 5-year survival.

Therefore, as the League Against Cancer reminds us, it is important that all women see their doctor or midwife at least once a year and get screened starting at age 50.
