Player found in train carriage in Spain: cause of death revealed

Footballer Álvaro Prieto, missing since October 12, was found dead in the carriages of a train in Seville, Spain. The 18-year-old athlete was found between two carriages of a train. According to investigations, the 18-year-old Cordoba player was electrocuted while he was on the roof of the train.

On Monday (16), the player’s body was found at Santa Justa station, in Seville, after being missing for five days. However, the cause of death only came to light on Tuesday.

The information, initially released by the newspaper “El País”, says that Prieto entered an area near the catenary, the equipment that powers the train’s electricity, suffering a discharge of 3,500 volts.

The images, captured by cameras at a service station, captured the player who was prevented by security officers from boarding the train. The player was returning to Córdoba after a party in Seville, but had missed the time of the train for which he had a ticket.

During training on Tuesday (17), all the players and the technical committee of Córdoba, the club defended by the player, observed a minute’s silence in honor of Álvaro Prieto.
