What is the story of All of Us Strangers?

Written by Andrew Haigh (Weekend, Looking), who is also responsible for directing the film, All of Us Strangers is an adaptation of the book Strangers (Unknownin free translation), by the Japanese writer Taichi Yamada.

In history, Adam (Andrew Scott) is a 40-something screenwriter who lives alone in an almost deserted skyscraper on the outskirts of London. One night, he is approached by one of his few neighbors, Harry (Paul Mescal), who invites him to spend the night together, after noticing him watching him on a few occasions.

Insecure about issues in your own life, Adam he rejects the boy’s initial advances, but the drunken flirtation makes him decide to revisit the past. He returns to the house he lived in as a child and meets his parents, with whom he has deep conversations, which have been pending since their death in a tragic car accident.

Who is in the film’s cast?

The story mainly revolves around the relationship between Adam It is Harry, which develops as the screenwriter comes into contact with his own pain. Who is the director Andrew Haigh?

Haigh released his first feature film, Greek Petein 2009, but really emerged two years later, with the debut of Weekend (2011), which shows the construction of the relationship between two strangers after sharing what they thought was just a one-night stand.

He was also one of the directors of the series Looking, aired between 2014 and 2015 on HBO, which established him as one of the most significant voices in LGBTQIAPN+ audiovisual production, especially in the portrayal of stories about gay men. Haigh also directed Looking: The Movie (2016), which ended the series’ history, canceled after its second season.

When does it debut All of Us Strangers?

All of Us Strangerswent through this year’s editions of Telluride Film FestivalO New York Film Festival and, recently, the BFI London Film Festival and the Rio Festivalheld between October 5th and 15th in Rio de Janeiro.

The film, however, will only hit American theaters on December 22, 2023. Here, the film will be distributed by 20th Century Studios Brasil, but it does not yet have a defined release date. Check out the trailer for All of Us Strangers Next:
