Killers Of The Flower Moon: Ban Or Warning For Scorsese’s New Film With DiCaprio?

The big day is coming! 6 years after Martin Scorsese’s last theatrical release, Silence, Killers of the Flower Moon hits theaters on October 18th. Worn by Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone, this monumental mural 3h26 takes us back to the early 20th century in the United States.

Oil brought wealth to the Osages, who overnight became one of the richest in the world. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted the lust of unscrupulous white men, who intrigued, extorted, and stole as much of the Osage money as they could before resorting to murder.

A film based on David Grann’s shocking book, American note, promises to be as violent and uncompromising as one would expect from a cinematic giant like Scorsese. So does Killers of the Flower Moon have a theatrical ban?

The Classification Commission has classified this work “All viewers be warned. The film’s oppressive atmosphere and the crudeness of some of the crime scenes are likely to offend sensitive audiences”Revealed by the CNC (National Center for Motion Picture and Motion Picture) dependent organization.

Silence, which was released in February 2017, was also classified as “All Audiences Warning”. As for The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), it was banned for children under 12. Note that The Irishman (2019), Martin Scorsese’s last film before Assassin’s Creed, is a Netflix production and has not been released theatrically in France.

It landed directly on the streaming platform. The Flower Moon Assassins could have met the same fate. Funded in part by Apple Studios, the film was released almost exclusively on Apple TV+. Fortunately, Paramount took matters into their own hands and distributed the film to theaters.

Killers of the Flower Moon hits the big screen on October 18.
