And Young? Let’s see when the Corinthians striker should be available again

Striker Giovane has begun the process of physical transition to coach Joaquim Grava and should not take long to become available again at Corinthians. The 19-year-old suffered a ruptured anterior tendon in his left hamstring in early September and has entered the final stage of his recovery.

The report of Gazzetta dello Sport he found that Giovane is doing individual work with the ball, but that training with the rest of the group should only take place at the end of the month. The expectation is that the athlete will be 100% physically at the beginning of November.

Young was South American champion with the Brazilian Under 20 team at the beginning of the year and then alternated playing in Timão’s youth team with the professional one. The boy did not remain with the top team like Guilherme Biro and Pedro, who also raised the cup with Amarelinha.

As soon as he recovers, Giovane will be evaluated by the technical commission chaired by Mano Menezes. Attack is a poor sector for Corinthians and could become even more so next season, with Pedro’s farewell, negotiated with Zenit.

Throughout his training Giovane played as a striker and on the sidelines. Over the course of the year, the young man showed dissatisfaction with the lack of professional opportunities and received surveys from European football, but in the end he remained at Alvinegro. The striker’s contract with Corinthians is valid until July 2025.

Still without Giovane, Corinthians will visit Fluminense this Thursday, at the Maracanã. The ball rolls at 9.30pm (Brasilia time), in a match valid for the 27th day of the Brazilian Championship.
