Four years after it was released on Netflix, the Irishman is turning over his new gem, Killers of the Flower Moon, to Martin Scorsese. Worn by Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone and Robert De Niro, this epic 3h26 historical mural depicts a dark part of American history: a series of murders by the Osage Native American tribe in Oklahoma, Oklahoma in the 1920s.

What are you doing?
In the early 20th century, oil brought wealth to the Osages, who overnight became one of the richest in the world. Killers of the Flower Moon: How Scorsese’s New Film Starring DiCaprio and De Niro Opens at the Box Office?
According to Le Figaro:
“It had to be done. Scorsese had achieved the equivalent of the great American novel on the screen. At Cannes, he seemed to want to show all the contenders what cinema is. The public was speechless. The rest of the directors breathed a sigh of relief. : Killers of the Flower Moon was out of competition. (Eric Neuhoff) 5/5
According to Les Echos:
“Martin Scorsese unveils a dizzying crime thriller that lies somewhere between Western, film noir and tragedy. One of the most beautiful films from the ‘Raging Bull’ author”. (Adrienne Gombo) 5/5
According to the Prime Minister:
“Going against the grain of documentary film conventions – sometimes at the cost of brutal ellipses – Scorsese concentrates on a priori anti-spectacular scenes, which he achieves at the height of tension: domestic face-to-face in the dark, conversations. Emphasized by the sign of death, a contemplative escape to the edge of abstraction…” (Frederick Fauber) 5/5
According to Le Point:
“Detailed, epic and brutal, this chilling true crime story is already a classic.” (Philip Goode) 4/5
According to Télé 7 Jours:
“At the age of 80, the maestro signs off on an ambitious film, so we’ll forgive him for the histrionics of DiCaprio as the nephew and the lengths that dilute the power of the story.” (Isabel Magnier) 4/5
Killers of the Flower Moon with DiCaprio: What does the title of Scorsese’s film mean?
According to Télérama:
“Despite its somewhat disappointing length, Killers of the Flower Moon is a fascinating film from start to finish, electric and without being overwrought like ‘Casino.'” (Jacques Morris) 4/5
According to Les Inrockuptibles:
With some beautiful outbursts – especially the sequences between Ernest and Molly – “The Killers of the Flower Moon” finally struggles to place itself on the high level it seems to be constantly striving for, a broad political tragedy and the respondent. Thierry Jus 2/5
