After Oppenheimerthe Taylor Swift phenomenon
Christopher Nolan is one of the most important directors in Hollywood today. His latest film Oppenheimer almost earned $1 billion in revenue worldwide. An impressive result that few expected. Because by proposing a three-hour film, partly in black and white, and about a scientific personality far from being known before by the general public, it cannot be said that the filmmaker has satisfied the requirements of the usual blockbusters.
But it’s a good thing, because as other directors have noted, this success (and that of Barbie) gives hope for the birth of a different cinema. However, this is not the only case that could convince studios to think. At least that’s what Christopher Nolan thinks when he sees it Taylor Swift explodes at the American box office.

The singer has indeed released The Turn of the Ages, a filmed concert available in theaters from October 13th. Nothing really new, given that we can often see this type of musical event at the cinema. Except for Tailor Swift, the numbers are monumental.
The strongest singer in the studios
Pre-sales were already announcing a bigger first weekend than some Marvel superhero films. So the first numbers fell with an opening at more than 100 million dollars, and the film began breaking records. During a discussion onOppenheimer, Christopher Nolan focused on this Taylor Swift phenomenon and said he was impressed. Because the release of this filmed concert was not done in the traditional way with a studio behind it.
Taylor Swift is about to prove something to the studios. Because her concert footage of her is not distributed by movie studios. It is distributed by the theater owner, AMC, and will bring in a lot of money. It’s a format, a way of looking at things and sharing stories or experiences that is incredibly valuable. And if they (movie studios) don’t want it, someone else will. It is the truth.
As stated Expiration, Tailor Swift is expected to recoup an average of 57% of a ticket at $19.89 (in the US). A percentage that, usually, returns to the distributor and therefore the studies to which Christopher Nolan aims. Furthermore, the success of this release is all the more impressive as the singer, wanting to offer a true group experience, insisted that her film not have no sessions every day of the week. A restriction that forces the public to concentrate on a limited number of sessions but which evidently does not pose any problems.
