Hopscotch seeks to end 36-year fast, as well as win fifth gold medal

About to carry out their second training session on Chilean soil, the Brazilian team is preparing to compete at the 2023 Pan American Games, which will take place in Santiago, Chile. The delegation arrived on Wednesday (18) and on Thursday they trained for the first time in Viña del Mar, the place chosen as Brazil’s base during the competition.

The team will debut on Monday (23) against the United States, in Valparaíso. In the second round of the group stage, they will face Colombia on the 26th, and will close the phase against Honduras, on the 29th at 7pm (Brasilia time), in Sausalito.

This is Brazil’s twelfth participation in the Pan American Games. Hopscotch is looking to end a 36-year fast, as well as win a fifth gold medal. In 11 participations he won four gold medals (1963, 1975, 1979 and 1987), three silver medals (1959, 1983 and 2003) and one bronze (2015). At the last Pan, in 2019, Brazil was not present because it did not qualify.
