The Italian president stressed that violence is spreading
The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, said on Friday (20) that the seeds of hatred fuel terrorist threats.
“The seeds of the pseudoculture of violence and hatred are spreading, both internationally and nationally.
This also fuels terrorist threats and behaviors that undermine the freedom of citizens”, said the head of state in a meeting with the mayors.
Mattarella also underlined in the meeting the need to “always guarantee” fundamental rights of expression.
In another part of his speech, the Italian president asked city mayors to “be attentive to legality and crime”. .
