Last film adapted only half of the final book in the saga created by Veronica Roth
Based on the books of Veronica Roth, Divergent There were three films starring Shailene Woodley (Tris) It is Theo James (Four): Divergent (2014), Insurgent (2015) and Convergent (2016), but it did not have an ending due to public and critical failure. However, the author thinks the franchise “feels complete.”
During an interview with People, the writer explained how it matches the way the films ended. It is worth remembering how Convergent adapted only half of the third and final book in the saga, which bears the same name.
“I mean, breaking things into two parts was fashionable at the time. That’s why that decision was made. But at that point, I think I always felt peace with it just because I knew that the movies were taking a different path than the books, and if you change the lead, you change the ending,” he said.
“So I kind of felt like at that point… I feel like that third movie, I don’t know – there’s a lot we could talk about. But it’s its own thing,” the author continued. “It seems complete to me, relatively speaking, what does it mean at this point?” Finally, Veronica Roth was asked if she likes to separate the books into different films.
I feel like it has to be a big, long book for it to make sense.
