Tonight on Netflix: A heist with tons of stars, and it’s not Ocean’s Saga!

There are positives from Ocean’s Saga, with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon and company, and those, a little less professional, from Central Park Robbery, especially with Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy! If you want to have a good time with them then head over to Netflix where this hilarious comedy is available.

The victims of a huge stock fraud decide to take revenge by robbing the luxury apartment where the businessman responsible for their downfall is under house arrest… Such is the delicious plot of the Central Park Heist, released in the hexagonal rooms in 2011.

Unlike the Ocean’s Eleven-style gentlemen, it’s a group of broken hands who get the job done in The Central Park Heist. All the stereotypes of losers are there: the desolate and scolding manager, the broker who goes bankrupt, the penniless concierge, the father-to-be…

The great quality of this very nice heist comedy, which perfectly fulfills its mission to entertain, is its excellent casting. Alongside Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy we meet Matthew Broderick, Thea Leoni, Michael Peña and Casey Affleck, who have the funny distinction of starring in Ocean’s Saga and The Central Park Heist!

Fascinated by heist films, director Brett Ratner confided that he was inspired by certain classics of the genre for the Central Park heist. Thus, the American cites Sidney Lumet’s The Anderson Gang (1971), Peter Yates’s Four Thieves (1972) and Joseph Sargent’s Underground Pirates (1974).

Finally, we note that the tower at the center of Central Park Heist (originally called Tower Heist) was strongly inspired by the Trump Tower in the heart of Manhattan. A large and beautiful apartment on the top floor of the Trump International Hotel overlooking Central Park was the model set for the film, which grossed $153 million worldwide, more than double its original budget.
