See the country’s best results in the competition held in Santiago, Chile
The Pan American Games officially began on Friday 20th, the journalist who writes to you follows (almost) everything about the competition. I will continue to give my humble opinion on football, but obviously Pan cannot be ignored. Brazil has already shone and shines in many sports, such as skateboarding, volleyball, swimming and even baseball.
I’ll just summarize what the Brazilians will have this Monday, the 23rd. In swimming, the qualifiers will be held at 8:40 am (Brasilia time) and the finals at 4:00 pm. At 11 am the athletes will test the men’s 3 meter springboard. The finals of gymnastics, rowing, skiing and other sports also take place today.
The football team debuts in this ‘second season’ against the United States, at 6pm Brasilia time.
Before all that, how about we find out a little more about the first days of competition? Let’s go.
Fitness
Brazil won silver in the women’s artistic gymnastics team competition on Sunday. Our athletes lost to the United States and preceded the strong Canadian team (bronze). Rebeca Andrade, Flávia Saraiva, Jade Barbosa, Carolyne Pedro and Júlia Soares achieved another important result after winning silver at the World Championships in Antwerp.
Jade and Flávia will compete in the all-around competition this Monday 23. Our gold and silver medalist at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games, Rebeca Andrade qualified in the three apparatuses she competed in: vault, beam and parallel bars. Flavinha also reaches the solo finals, bars and beam. Júlia Soares will participate in the Pan-American decisions on floor and beam.
Skateboard
Raicca Ventura placed second at Park on Sunday. Canadian Fay Ebert, 13, won gold and American Bryce Wettstein bronze. The Brazilian remained fourth until the third attempt. Raicca was the last to compete in the Pan, failing the first two times by falling on the track with just seconds to go. She achieved a score of 8.4 and was only behind Ebert. Raicca was the favorite, but at that moment the silver turned out to be a great gift.
Also in the men’s category Augusto Akio won silver at the Santiago skatepark.
On Saturday Rayssa Leal and Pâmela Rosa achieved a double, gold and silver respectively. Lucas Rabelo of Ceará won his second gold in Brazilian skateboarding, on the street. Northeasterners rule this mode!
I swim

The 4x100m freestyle mixed relay, made up of Guilherme Caribé, Ana Carolina Vieira, Stephanie Balduccini and Marcelo Chierighini won gold and broke the Pan-American record. In this sport, Brazil also achieved two silvers and two bronzes.
The Brazilian team beat strong rivals from the United States and Canada, and the sport also won two more silver and two bronze medals.
Cycling
In BMX cycling, Priscilla Stevaux was in fourth place. Paola Reis fell and crossed the finish line in eighth place.
Baseball! YES! Baseball!
Brazil beat Colombia 8-7, defeated Venezuela, a strong team, on their debut and achieved their second consecutive victory in the first phase of the competition. Incredible.
Pan-American hugs.
