STJD denies Botafogo’s injunction and match against Fortaleza remains postponed

After Botafogo submitted a request to the STJD to keep the match against Fortaleza for this Tuesday (24), the president of the entity, José Perdiz, denied the Juventus request. The clash between the teams therefore remains postponed. In the next few days the CBF will announce the date of the comparison.

At the basis of his decision to reject the Rio club’s request, the STJD president analyzed the autonomy of the CBF Competitions Department to decide on the issue, as happened last Saturday (21st).

Since the first information about the postponement of the match against Fortaleza, Botafogo has maintained its position on keeping the date of the match. However, he saw CBF going in the opposite direction. On Sunday evening (22nd), before submitting the request to the STJD, the Rio club asked the CBF to revoke the decision to postpone the match against Fortaleza.

The company, in fact, maintained the schedule for Monday, as if the team were to take the field the following day. The Juventus players then trained in the morning at the Club’s sports center and subsequently prepared to go to the match. What didn’t happen.
