The date is April 12, 2024. It is on this date that Prime Video will introduce its subscribers to the series adaptation of the world’s best-selling video game saga, Fallout. The platform made the announcement on the 26th anniversary of Fallout Day, an annual celebration related to the video game franchise.
It took Amazon 4 years to create, film and release what promises to be one of the TV events of next year. No images yet, but we can count on Prime Video to ramp up anticipation until next spring. And when it comes to promotion, they know how to do it:
Video games take place in a world destroyed by bombs, radiation and mutations, which led to the creation of monsters in particular. Out of the 9 opus released (6 main and 6 spin-offs), players have to play different characters. Between refugees from the fallout shelters where they grew up, raiders (robbers), fascist militias and other armed fraternities, the world of the Fallout license is so rich that it has been the joy of gamers since 1997.
The series adaptation of Fallout will take place in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles and will be part of the main storyline of the game universe, even if it is an original story.
Actor Walton Goggins took the lead role, in a still-undisclosed role. Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Kyle McLachlan (Twin Peaks), Leslie Ughams (Deadpool), Frances Turner (The Boys) and Michael Emerson (Person of Interest).
Fallout is produced by Kilter Films, along with Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, creators of the Westworld series.
