“The Suicide Squad” director and screenwriter James Gunn used his social networks to create anticipation as well as a new spin-off.
Gunn used his Twitter to post a photo of Scottish actor Peter Capaldi as Gaius Grieves the Thinker. He captioned: “I can’t wait to tell you all the great plans we have currently in play.” So far it is not known which project this comment refers to.

The Thinker made his comic book debut in All-Flash # 12 in 1943, created by Gardner Fox and Everett E. Hibbard. He has had several versions over the years at DC Comics, but the one most associated with the Suicide Squad was the New 52 Reboot Era Thinker, who was the team’s main villain.
When it comes to “The Suicide Squad”, the Thinker was instrumental in creating the Starfish Project. He was tasked with studying Starro the Conqueror of Stars at a base called Jötunheim, later captured by Task Force X, who used him to fight Silvio Luna. However, the end was tragic for the Thinker, at the hands of Starro.
James Gunn previously commented on a second “Suicide Squad” spin-off in development at HBO Max. “I can’t say anything. It’s connected to this universe and I don’t think it’s going to be in the same genre as” Peacemaker “; as much as ‘Peacemaker’, but it will be in the same universe, “Gunn explained.
For now, Gunn’s project has not been announced and “The Suicide Squad” and “Peacemaker” are available on the HBO Max streaming platform.
