It’s almost a decade old, but the Liam Neeson-starring action movie Non-Stop is so popular with Netflix subscribers that it’s ranked No. 2 among the most-watched movies on the platform. And this solid little thriller is far from the worst movie for the actor!
Neeson plays Bill Marks, a US Air Force marshal. While on a regular flight between New York and London, he receives a text message from an anonymous killer who says he will kill a passenger every 20 minutes unless the government pays him $150 million. There are 200 passengers on board and the journey turns out to be difficult…

This story was heavily inspired – needless to say – by the TV movie Mystery of Flight 502, which aired on ABC in 1975, and which had enough of a following to earn itself a parody of Is There a Pilot in the Airplane?.
The Non-Stop team knows each other, as Liam Neeson reunites with Julianne Moore, with whom he created a crisis couple in the film ChloƩ (2009), and director Jaume Collet-Serra, with whom he already filmed Without Identity (2011). The two men would work together again on Night Run (2015) and The Passenger (2018), and Collet-Serra will produce Retribution, also co-starring.

If the film is suspended, it clearly speaks to the identity of the killer, but also to its ability to make the audience doubt what it has taken for granted. L’“Air Marshall” Is Bill Marks really white about this? Is the flight crew really unsuspecting? It’s a good way to maintain tension!
If you find Liam Neeson movies repetitive, so do we! We even prepared fake pitches!

Michelle Dockery and Lupita Nyong’o play two flight attendants in the film. Their names are Nancy and Gwen, respectively. These first names refer to two flight attendants from the big screen: Nancy from 747 in Danger (1974), played by Karen Black, and Gwen from Airport (1970), played by Jacqueline Bisset.

These two films are part of the cinematic fashion of aviation disasters, Panique en plein ciel (1971), Bomb Alert (1972), Les NaufragƩs du 747 (1977) or Nanar Airport 80 Concorde (1979) with Alain Delon.
