“If I don’t create accompanied by my music, I’m not alive,” said Sandy’s brother in an interview with “Fantástico” this Sunday; listening to music
Junior Limaknown as a duo with his sister Sandy, he decided to take the plunge solo career for the first time and talked about his expectations interview to the Fantasticfrom Globo, this Sunday, 29.
He defines the style of his new work as “danceable pop with more calm, introspective, melancholic and very happy moments, with a lot of rhythm and rhythm.”
Junior says he decided to release the album as a solo career driven by Sandy and Junior’s comeback tour in 2019, which brought him back in touch with large audiences and popular songs from his past. He also attributed the change to a phrase by Clarice Lispector with whom he came into contact.
At one point he was working on a song and, during a break, he took out his cell phone and connected to a social network, coming across an interview with the writer.
“She [Clarice] She said when she wasn’t creating, writing, she was dead. When I read this it was a ‘stab’ for me. [Junior chora]. Then I realized: that’s exactly how it is. I’m dead. If I don’t create, accompanied by my music, I’m not whole and I’m not alive,” he said.
“During the whole process of the shows, I realized that I was far from myself. This feeling of, damn, this is it, I’m a pop artist. I can’t be that far away from pop music. I had stopped a long time ago, years without dancing. It gave me pleasure to sing my songs, things I had composed…”, Junior said at another point.
Regarding other experiences he had after Sandy and Junior’s separation in 2007, such as the trio 9 Mil Anjos or the electronic music group Dexterz, he said: “They were things that gave me pleasure, but ultimately they left a certain void that I understood on tour.”
