San Paolo will play against Bragantino at Vila Belmiro; view details

Sao Paulo will host the match against Red Bull Bragantino, valid for the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship, in Vila Belmiro, which belongs to Santos. The clubs have entered into an agreement to exchange the rent of their stadiums if necessary.

The match was originally scheduled for Morumbi, at 8pm (Brasilia time), but its location was changed at the request of Tricolor. On this date, the São Paulo stadium will be closed to accommodate international shows.

On November 10, Morumbi will host a performance by the North American band Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Mexican group RBD will perform here on November 12th and 13th. The change has been confirmed by the CBF and is already on the organisation’s website.

Earlier this season, São Paulo announced a deal with Palmeiras to host matches at Allianz Parque. The team played at the Alviverde stadium only once, when they were eliminated by Água Santa in the quarter-finals of the Campeonato Paulista.

Verdão, in turn, also used Morumbi in the classic against Santos, won 3-1, again in the group stage of the State Championship.

Initially, the action was heavily criticized by fans of both clubs. Months later, the San Paolo managers even criticized the Allianz synthetic pitch, where some of the team’s athletes, such as Lucas, Ferraresi and Gallop, ended up getting injured. After the 5-0 defeat against Palmeiras last week, coach Dorival Júnior also complained about the pitch.

The Tricolore therefore chose to send the duel with Bragantino to a natural grass stadium, such as the Vila Belmiro. On the other hand, Santos will be able to use Morumbi when necessary.

Immediately after facing Massa Bruta, the San Paolo team will return to Vila Belmiro, this time away. In the next round, the stadium hosts the classic between Santos and Sao Paulo. San-São is scheduled for Sunday 12th at 6.30pm (Brasilia time).
